We are seeking to appoint a dedicated and flexible professional to join our team in a dual role as an Assistant SENDCo (2 days per week) and Study Support Tutor (3 days per week) within our thriving college. As Assistant SENDCo, you will work closely with the SENDCo to provide additional capacity within one of the largest colleges in our Trust. You will play a key role in supporting the strategic development of our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) provision, ensuring a high-quality, inclusive service that enables students with SEND to achieve their full potential.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the identification and assessment of students with SEND
  • Monitoring, tracking and evaluating student progress and outcomes
  • Contributing to the development and review of support strategies and plans
  • Liaising effectively with teaching staff, parents/carers, external agencies, and feeder schools to ensure continuity of support
  • Supporting students with medical needs and complex requirements

In your Study Support Tutor role, you will:

  • Deliver targeted academic and pastoral support to students
  • Help students develop independent learning skills and resilience
  • Work with individuals and small groups to remove barriers to learning
  • Support students to maximise their progress and achievement across the curriculum

The successful candidate should have previous knowledge and/or experience of working with people with learning difficulties and/or disabilities, as well as experience in the delivery of appropriate support to SEND students.  You should also have a willingness to undertake further training relevant to the role.
