“One of the main strengths of the Trust is its clear commitment to student success and well-being. It provides a strong support structure for both staff and students, encouraging collaboration, professional development, and high standards across all sites. The Trust also fosters a positive and inclusive culture, where staff feel valued and students are given a wide range of opportunities to achieve their potential.”

Staff Comment:

The Trust is very well ran. Communication is clear and a lot of opportunity for collaboration. The leadership of the trust is very strong. Well-being is taken seriously and staff are valued.
The common aim of improving all young people’s lives

I am part of a team with a common purpose and shared values.

Staff comment:

I have always felt and continue to feel very proud and lucky to work within the NCLT family, and I think that this is down to the sense of belonging and ethos of the Trust, that we are all working together to give young people the best opportunities and open the doors to their future. My eldest child is excited to go to NCP and she is currently only in Yr 8!! This speaks volumes, as a parent, about the impact that NCLT has, on both staff and students.

The Trust is well led and managed.

Staff Comment:

Good communication across the trust is good. Leaders are visible and supportive. They understand the children. Our children loved that Mr Fletcher has set them challenges throughout the year. It’s a fun side which is nice to see.
It feels like one big team, we cheer each other on and support each other. I enjoy reading about others successes and events, as well as our own being shared.

I am committed to the Trust’s priorities.

What Our Staff Say

Donna Simpson – New College Bradford

“The staff induction programme put in place helped me to become an ‘oldie’ in a very short time. A place run by mavericks willing to push boundaries and face head on the challenges of educational change.

A place of dynamism for the dynamic. A great place to work and grow. “

Conor Townsend – Art Foundation Diploma

“During my time at New College Pontefract, I’ve had the chance to dive into various professional development activities, including courses with The Open University, MoMA, and M&C Saatchi Gallery. Most notably I have had the opportunity to undergo my Initial Teacher Training in the Visual Arts department alongside my role as a Progress Tutor.”

Paul Barron – New College Pontefract

“Working within NCLT is an incredibly rewarding experience. Everything is centred around what will deliver the best outcomes for students but there are also numerous opportunities for staff to develop their own professional practice and be supported in furthering their own career. Working within the Trust also gives us the best of both worlds – the freedom to develop a curriculum that is right for us and the students but also a broad range of colleagues to collaborate with and a wide range of experiences to draw on.”

Emma Howard – Thorpe Hesley

I have worked at Thorpe Hesley primary School for 3 years. I love to be part of the NCLT team and also part of my Key Stage 1 group on a daily basis. I feel lucky to have attended a wealth of training that has improved and developed my knowledge as a practitioner. I have been fortunate to have been given support from senior leaders in school for personal and professional reasons and I am grateful for this. What a great place to work!

Chris Whittaker – New College Doncaster

“Working at New College Doncaster has been a great experience. Colleagues are friendly, supportive and keen to share best practice. There have been career progression opportunities throughout my time here. The learning environment and facilities are excellent and the focus is always on what is in the best interest of the students – both in terms of Teaching for Learning and Pastoral support.”
