Work of the NCTSA

A key part of the trust’s activities includes the work of our teaching school, the New Collaborative Teaching School Alliance. This partnership of different primary, secondary, post-16 and HE providers delivers training, support and professional development to a wide range of institutions across the Yorkshire region.

The past few weeks have seen a lot of activity in the Bradford region. This has included developing a Senior Leadership Training Course in association with the Northern Lights Teaching School, led by Skipton Girls’ High School. The course is expected to run in the summer and will consist of two half-day sessions, covering core skills for both potential senior leaders and those senior leaders new to their post.

The NCTSA has also been working closely with Bradford Academy to support the school with improving achievement and progress in GCSE Maths, English, Science, MFL and Geography. This has involved an SLE visit to the science department, including a series of lesson observations, and will include a visit from the science department to Selby High School this week.

These activities help to share best practice across the wider educational community and strengthen NCTSA’s role as a key teaching school in the Yorkshire region.
