Contract Type: 1 hour per day, Monday to Friday (5 hours per week), term time only + 2 INSET Days

Dinnington High School’s Food Department is growing and is now an examined subject at Key Stage 4.  Due to the growth of the Department, we require a Food Preparation Assistant to support the Teacher of Food Technology in the preparation of ingredients for cooking lessons and provide additional support as required.

Applicants should hold a Food Hygiene Certificate or be willing to undertake Food Hygiene training and will have recent experience of working with young people of secondary age as well as handling food and food storage.  The main duties will involve weighing and measuring ingredients for daily cooking lessons and ensuring that all equipment and work surfaces are clean and ready for use in line with food hygiene requirements.  In addition, the post holder will work with the admin team to process food shopping orders and store goods appropriately.

The successful candidate will work in this new role Monday to Friday, 1 hour per day, but the daily working time can be flexible to accommodate the postholder’s availability, either an hour before school or after school depending on the preference of the successful candidate.
