We are looking for an enthusiastic, professional and proactive Human Resources Officer to join our team at New College Pontefract.

This is an exciting opportunity for an HR professional to take ownership of the full employee lifecycle within a successful and ambitious educational environment. As the dedicated HR lead for the college, you will provide high-quality advice and support to managers and staff on a broad range of HR matters. You will work with the Central HR Team, creating the perfect balance of autonomy and support.

As a HR generalist you will provide a comprehensive range of HR support, taking a lead on HR work and employee relations matters and being the first point of contact for staff at New College Pontefract. You will take the lead in managing college-based HR processes including recruitment, new starter processes, contracts, use of HR software to maintain staff records and additionally support managers with employment relations matters (including sickness absence, flexible working requests, disciplinary and grievance cases etc).

This would be an ideal opportunity for someone currently working as a HR Officer or someone with a proven track record in HR administration who is looking for their next step. You will receive advice and support from the Central HR Team and other HR Officers. NCLT is committed to the professional development of staff and would be willing to fully fund the appropriate CIPD qualification for the successful candidate if desired.

To be successful in this role you will have excellent attention to detail and organisational skills, be personable, self-motivated and professional with good communication skills, be able to work flexibly under pressure, balancing changing priorities and be willing to undertake further training relevant to the role.
