Equality and Diversity

We are passionately committed to providing an inclusive learning and working environment in which diversity is celebrated and valued.  We promise to treat each individual with respect and dignity and to ensure that every member of our community studies, learns and works in an environment free from discrimination, harassment or victimisation.  We expect all whom we work with to share in this commitment.

We have a fundamental belief in the entitlement of every individual, both staff and students, to fulfil their potential and will help both to remove any barriers to that full achievement and promote equality of opportunity across the Trust. We take our responsibility to eliminate all forms of inequality seriously and our Equality and Diversity Policy provides the framework for our commitment.

Our commitment to recognising and celebrating diversity runs through our teaching and learning, our student support and pastoral systems and our enrichment programmes. Our schools and colleges welcome students with disabilities or learning difficulties and we will ensure that there is continuity and equal access to the opportunities and experiences on offer. Via our close working relationships with our local schools and through our SENDCos, we will endeavour to make sure that transition from a previous school to us will be as smooth as possible.  We want to ensure that a disability of any kind does not prevent any student from succeeding and our study support function is directed at challenging everyone to achieve their potential, succeed and progress.

Equally, we are committed to recruiting and retaining the best possible staff and ensuring that a disability and/or health concern does not prevent an individual’s skills and talent being recognised, maximised and fully utilised.

“One of the main strengths of the Trust is its clear commitment to student success and well-being. It provides a strong support structure for both staff and students, encouraging collaboration, professional development, and high standards across all sites. The Trust also fosters a positive and inclusive culture, where staff feel valued and students are given a wide range of opportunities to achieve their potential.”

The Trust is dedicated to diversity and inclusiveness.

The common aim of improving all young people’s lives

I am part of a team with a common purpose and shared values.

Staff comment:

I have always felt and continue to feel very proud and lucky to work within the NCLT family, and I think that this is down to the sense of belonging and ethos of the Trust, that we are all working together to give young people the best opportunities and open the doors to their future. My eldest child is excited to go to NCP and she is currently only in Yr 8!! This speaks volumes, as a parent, about the impact that NCLT has, on both staff and students.

The Trust is well led and managed.

Staff Comment:

Good communication across the trust is good. Leaders are visible and supportive. They understand the children. Our children loved that Mr Fletcher has set them challenges throughout the year. It’s a fun side which is nice to see.
It feels like one big team, we cheer each other on and support each other. I enjoy reading about others successes and events, as well as our own being shared.

I am committed to the Trust’s priorities.
