Chair of the Advisory Group Advisor with special interest in Safeguarding, Anti-bullying, and Equality

I have been an Advisor or Governor at Thorpe Hesley since 2008, originally starting in the Infant School, then moving to become Chair once the Infant and Junior Schools combined.

This is an interest for me! In my professional life I work within a large technology portfolio in the Home Office.

I became a Governor once my eldest child started school – I felt that if I was losing him to the ‘establishment’ for so many hours, I should at least understand what their priorities were. I never expected to still be here so many years later!

As an advisor for Thorpe Hesey Primary School, I oversee, Foundation Stage, Mental Health & PHSE Subject.

I have been a governor for 9 years, at Thorpe Hesley Primary School. In my career I have worked in many NHS office roles, customer service & have also had my own business. I am currently a full time Mum of 2 children and 5 dogs.

My hobbies include, walking, travelling, going to the cinema, I also enjoy eating out & going to musicals.

I wanted to become a governor as my eldest daughter was in year 1 at the time & I wanted to be more involved in the running of the school and give something back.
