Become a School Advisor — Make a Difference in Your Community
Our school is shaped not just by staff and students, but by the people who help steer its future. School Advisors play a vital role in ensuring every young person gets the best possible education — and we’re looking for people from all walks of life to join us.
Whether you’re early in your career, a seasoned professional, a parent, a former student, or someone who simply cares about local education, your voice matters here.

🧩 What Does an Advisor Do?
Advisors work as a team with the Headteacher and school leaders to:
- Help set the school’s strategy and vision
- Support and challenge school leaders
- Look at data, hear about the school’s challenges, opportunities and priorities
- Shape areas like wellbeing, curriculum, and equality
- Ensure pupils have the best possible opportunities
You don’t run the school day‑to‑day — you help guide it.
🕒 What’s the Commitment?

We know life is busy, so we make it manageable and flexible:
- Around 4 meetings per year
- About 1–2 hours of reading before each meeting
- Optional school visits to see how things work in practice
- Meetings are planned well in advance
- Full support and training provided
If you can give a small amount of time, you can make a huge difference.
💼 Who Can Become a Advisor?

You don’t need to be an expert or have a background in education.
We welcome people who are:
- In the early stages of their career
- Community‑minded
- Parents or carers
- Local residents
- Students or recent graduates
- Skilled professionals
- People with lived experience or diverse perspectives
The most important thing is a commitment to helping young people succeed.
🎓 Why Join Us?

Being a Advisor is rewarding — personally and professionally.
You will:
- Make a direct impact on children’s lives
- Gain strategic and leadership experience
- Build confidence in decision‑making
- Develop skills valued in every career
- Work with passionate people
- Contribute to your community
- Strengthen your CV and future opportunities
Many advisors say the experience is more fulfilling than they ever expected.
